Dr. Riffel taught every grade preschool through college. She worked with regular education and special education. She also directed a state wide program serving approximately 500 students across the state with the help of full time behavior therapists who traveled the state helping educators and parents. She also ran a day clinic for children with severe behaviors with the help of a full time educator and assistant in the clinic.
All of these diverse experiences and a Ph.D. in cognitive and multiple disabilities helps her help educators make environmental changes in their classrooms to ameliorate disruptions and increase academic achievement.
